Genesis is committed to protecting your and your family's personal information.  Our objective is to ensure that our products and services are safe and enjoyable for our customers.

 

This Privacy Statement relates to our use of any personal information you or any child under your care provides to us via phone or text, by email, in letters or correspondence.  It also relates to our use of any personal information you, or any child under your care, provide to us online or via any mobile device.

Genesis is committed to safeguarding your personal information and the personal information of any child under your care. Whenever such information is provided, we are legally obliged to use the information in line with all laws concerning the protection of personal information, including the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) of 1998 (together the "data protection laws").  According to the data protection laws, it is necessary for us to obtain parental permission for all children under the age of 13 to register to use our products and services, or sign up for email newsletters. We will not knowingly accept any information by any children under the age of 13 without the express permission of their parent and/or guardian. For any children under the age of 13, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent before any personal information is gathered.  If you are under 13, we may separately contact your parents or legal guardians to get consent and verification.  If you believe we may have personal information about a child under 13 that was not provided with parental consent, please click here to contact us.

FIRST YOU NEED TO KNOW WHO WE ARE

 

We are Genesis, a company incorporated under the laws of Hong Kong, China with our principal place of business at 8/F, Phase 1 & 2, Spinners Industrial Building, 818 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong, China (Genesis or us or we or our).  

 

We operate the Genesis website (www.genesis-toys.com) (our “Services”).

THIS IS THE INFORMATION WE MAY COLLECT WHEN YOU USE OUR SERVICES

 

We collect personal information about you when you register with us, use our Services, answer our questions or provide feedback. We may also record our communications with you.  Some of the information is provided by you and some of the information is automatically collected (such as information from your browser or device).

 

  • General Information Collected:

 

System logging: Our webserver and e-mail systems keep log files about network transactions. We analyze these log files to calculate statistics on which pages are visited and how long visitors use our Services. We do not track individuals with this information. We are required to retain this information for the security of our Services. E-mail addresses of messages sent from our system are logged as well. These logs are not viewed unless necessary for security reasons and are deleted after 30 days.

 

Internet Addresses: we gather Internet Protocol (“IP”) addresses and pages viewed as part of the logging system within our webserver. When calculating statistics on visits and pages viewed, IP addresses are used in broad calculations. IP addresses are never used to identify someone personally unless a security breach requires such an investigation.

 

  • Email Lists and Surveys

 

Occasionally, people may wish to join email distribution lists. When registering, data is collected to enable us to send messages about Genesis and its products and Services. Information requested may include the user’s name, email address, and/or zip or postal code.

 

Dates of birth may be collected to let us know that the right age groups like our Services. We also require the birthday so that we may comply with the requirements of the data protection laws. The date added to the list is collected indirectly. If your child subsequently is removed from the list, we use this information to determine how long a child enjoys our e-mail messages. We do not disclose this information to third parties.

 

Occasionally we collect surveys from users of our Services. Any personal information is supplied either optionally or anonymously. Personal information supplied is not saved.

We work with trusted partners to perform tasks on our behalf and we may need to disclose your information to them to enable them to provide our products and Services to you.

Your information may also be used by us or shared with our subsidiaries, affiliates and other entities in the family of companies controlled by Genesis for internal reasons, primarily for business and operational purposes. As we continue to develop our business, we may sell or purchase a business or assets. If we purchase another entity or if another entity acquires us or all or substantially all of our assets, or assets related to the Services, any information that we have collected about the users of our Services may be disclosed to such entity as part of the due diligence process.

Advertising

 

Genesis may display targeted advertisements based on anonymised information, personally identifiable information or information you make publicly available. No personal information will be provided to the advertiser directly by us when you interact with or view a targeted advertisement. However, by interacting with or viewing an advertisement you are consenting to the possibility that the advertiser will collect data from you and/or make the assumption that you meet the targeting criteria used to display the advertisement.

We maintain tight controls over all the data we collect, retaining it in firewalled and secured databases with strictly limited and controlled access rights, to ensure it is secure. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password that enables you to access certain features of the Service, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. Please do not share this password with anyone. You are solely responsible for all access to our products and services using your password.

 

We will undertake internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, including appropriate encryption and physical security measures to guard against unauthorised access to systems where we store personal information. Please remember however that unfortunately no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
